Marcela Durán grew up in Rosario and was already gracing the dance floor of Salon Canning in Buenos Aires by 1988. For a decade, she partnered with the great Carlos Gavito. The close embrace shaped into a signature style through their dance has become an essential cornerstone of tango instruction worldwide.
She danced in the original Broadway production of Forever Tango. She performed at the prestigious Teatro Colón. For more than three decades, she has been traveling between tango communities leading workshops, and is celebrated today as a living legend: The Woman of Tango, the Queen of Tango.
